SYB/Optimist of Lusby Youth Baseball & Softball
SYB/ Optimist of Lusby, youth baseball & softball program serves approximately 1100 boys and girls in and around our community ranging from 5 to 16 years of age. For youths ages five and six we offer an instructional (co-ed) T-Ball program designed to teach the basic fundamentals of baseball, such as catching, throwing and hitting the baseball. Ages seven to sixteen we offer programs that teach intermediate to advanced skills, such as, positioning, reading the batter and how to play particular situations. Previous playing experience is not required, in fact we encourage youngsters with no experience to come out and give it a try, you never no who will be the next Ken Griffey, Jr., Cal Ripken, Jeff Bagwell or Pudge Rodriguez. | |
