Society of Engineers and Scientists
The Society of Engineers and Scientists (SES) was formed in 1961 to establish a network between the engineers of the different divisions and directorates at Patuxent River. The organization was to provide a means for engineers and scientists to exchange ideas and ideals. Even today, the group is not affiliated with any specific national organization because independence allows the SES to conform to local needs of the professional staff. The Society's goals are to provide: a vehicle through which members can assist with recruiting; an atmosphere fostering higher retention of professionals; a system for technology transfer through the use of in-house speakers; a system for updating and broadening professional knowledge by providing inside and outside guest speakers; a social setting to meet other professionals working at Patuxent River. | |
